Spring in Prachovské Skály
Sunday trip to Prachovské Skály (near to city Jičín, about 55km NE from Prague) reminded me some ideas of “minimalistic life”. So much time we spend hurrying somewhere looking for something, and we doesn’t care whether the target is target or “target”. I mean whether the reason for our movements can make us closer to happiness or someone else (preferably us, because usually we are not sure about wishes of other people). Simple walking with some friends in the nature, nice views, playing with dog … all these things was simple and give me two or three hours of quit feeling of satisfaction. I could do much more “useful” things, but why?
In the same day the movie Matrix shoved the simple explanation – we are part of system – system based on cooperation, rules and interactions of multi-level system (people, departments, organizations, …). System pushing us from our childhood to acting like … like ants. In itself this system is not go or bad, the problem is (IMHO) – we are parts of this system with very small choice to leave – we were grown in this system and so we follow its rules with – yes we can say it – some joy. How many people wants to get better job, just to buy new car, new TV, more expensive holiday, …
These people are so easy to manage – to get them to the trap of loan is very simple. The trap of “monthly payment” pushes them to get even more. And to stay “in” means to buy again better (or more trendy) things.
In such a moment I wish to “free my mind” and ask myself “what makes me happy”, where should I focus my time and effort. Well again and again we have chance to make less to get more – that’s idea of minimalistic life. Only one thing is on us – to try follow the rule of the system, or to try free our minds. At least we HAVE a choice – it’s only up to us.
